Part I：单词与短语

Part II：语法学习

1.动词的ing形式

前面讲过，动词的ing形式可以在句子中起到多种语法作用，这里将重点谈讨它们在进行时中在系动词be的配合下作谓语的作用和作定语的作用。

示例1：Aeroplanes are slowly driving me mad.(在are的配合下，driving成为了谓语动词的一部分)

示例2：Passing planes can be heard night and day.(作planes的定语)

示例3：Sometimes I think this house will be knocked down by a passing plane.(作plane的定语)

2.被动语态

前面也讲过了，这里再作深化

示例1：Passing planes can be heard day and night.(飞机与听到的关系是被动的)

示例2：The airport was built years ago.(机场与建造的关系是被动的)

示例3：For some reason, it could not be used then.(it就是指机场，它与使用的关系是被动的)

示例4：Over a hundred people must have been driven away from their homes by the noise.(人们与赶走的关系是被动的)

示例5：This house will be knocked down by a passing plane.(房子与震倒的关系是被动的，而且是将来的事情)

示例6：I have been offered a large sum of money to go away.(我与提供一大笔钱的关系是被动的)

3.一个特殊的定语

这里，我们结合一个句子来看一个特殊的定语，从而为后续的定语、定语从句学习和深化奠定基础。

示例：I am one of the few people left.

这里的left作people的定语，位置放后。其实，left是从一个句子简化来的，这个句子是：who were left.对于这里的简化，大家先死记一下：看看哪两个词被省去了？有了这个初步的认识，我们后续讲解和理解起来就方便多了。
